The Gospel People auf Peace for the World-Tour 2016-2017

Kriege im Nahen Osten, zunehmende Gewalt zwischen Gruppen verschiedener Stammes- oder Religionszugehörigkeit - all dies lässt bei den Menschen die Sehnsucht nach Frieden wachsen. Dieser Sehnsucht möchten The Gospel People auf ihrer diesjährigen "Peace-for-the-World-Tour" musikalisch Rechnung tragen und mit ihrer stimmgewaltigen Performance zum Frieden in der Welt aufrufen.

Vom 28. November 2016 bis zum 15. Januar 2017 sind die Musiker aus Harlem in Deutschland, Liechtenstein, Indonesien und Russland unterwegs, um auf ihren Konzerten die Freude an der Musik weiterzugeben und so selbst ein wenig Frieden zu stiften.

‘The Gospel People‘ wurden von Gospel Concert Management und Charles W. Creath in 2011 gegründet. Nach seinem Tod von C. Creath 2020 übernahm Leadsänger Owen Nixon die musikalische Leitung. Er liebt die Kirche, bekleidet geistliche Ämter und unterstützt unter anderem den „All City Chorus der Stadt Portsmouth“ als Solist. Daneben war er in früheren Jahren A Cappella-Sologesangskünstler und hat einen Bachelor of Music mit Schwerpunkt Medienwissenschaften. Neben ihm gehören Brandon Landrum (Keyboards und Sänger) zur festen Besetzung der Formation. Die Legende lebt rund um die seit 2022 dazugekommenen Sängerinnen: Toneisha Jones Harris (Alt) spielte am Broadway bereits Rollen wie Shug Avery in „The Color Purple“ und Oda Mae Brown in „Ghost, The Musical“. Sie war 2020 bestplatzierte afroamerikanische Sängerin in der Geschichte von NBCs ‘The Voice‘. Ihre Kollegin Madyson „Symphony“ McSwain (Sopran) wiederum hat kürzlich ihr Debütalbum veröffentlicht und stand bereits mit dem unglaublichen Adam Blackstone auf der Bühne, um dessen Emmy-Gewinn zu feiern. Neu dabei Naomi Parchment (Alt & Sopran) und an den Drums Bronson Landrum, der Bruder von Keyboarder & Allroundtalent Brandon.
