Sat, 10/26/24 Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Lutherstadt Wittenberg
Lehrgang durch Wittenberg
OneGospel Ministries e.V. will host a two hour walking tour of Wittenberg on Saturday, October 26, 2024. At 10:00 our German Tour will begin its walk through the Unesco World Heritage Site from Wittenberg Central Station. A further English tour will be offered at 2:00 pm, also departing from the train station. Each tour is scheduled to run approximately 2 hours.
Walking down the cobble stone street, we will pass by our first stop the Luther house (currently closed for renovations). We will hear about Martin Luther's work, his famous table talks, his family life and his unquenchable resolve to be commited to the bible. At the Luther Eiche, we will hear of the daring stand he took to defy the church authorities and the ripple affect it had.
As we continue our journey we will pass by the university of Wittenberg from which Luther taught his students for decades.
We will move to the town square where we will hear about the sale of indulgences and the corruption that clouded the issue of salvation for the common man. A stone's throw away is the city church from which Luther preached week after week and also married his wife Katharina of Bora.
We will move to the castle church and the world-famous thesis door from which a movement emerged that changed the world. We will climb into the tower where Luther had his famous tower experience and where he came to faith in Jesus Christ.
We will finish with a walk through the Augesteum where you are invited to read, learn and answer an interactive quiz.
Join us as we walk in the foortsteps of the Reformation and contemplate the continuous need for reformation in the church of Jesus Christ. Sola Scriptura.
NOTE: We are a non-profit organization. Ticket prices will cover our expenses and the participant's entry fees. Opportunities for donations will be made at the end of the tour. All donations will be allocated for the furtherment of the gospel.
We will meet in front of the entrance of the main station in Wittenberg. The OneGospel Ministries e.V. team will meet the participants at the cab stand.
The Central Station offers two parking lots with plenty of parking options.
Tickets are non-refundable.
