Word, Spirit and doing the stuff – that sums up Pastor Volkhard Spitzer’s passion and ministry. At age 21, he became the youngest reverend in Germany. In the 1960s/1970s, he was called the “hippie pastor from Berlin” His worship services have always been and still are open to everybody … literally: Public officials, housewives and businessmen together with drug addicts, prostitutes and criminals worship Jesus and listen to the Good News. In the age of media and internet, he is preaching to millions. Despite all the fame, he humbly admits: Without the power and fire of the Holy Spirit it doesn’t work! He is one of “God’s everyday heroes”.
